Stimme, Elektronik und Video. „Composing for many media including me“ ist ein Performance-Container, oder eine Performance-Serie über den Akt des Komponierens für die Medien Text, Sound, Video und sich selbst. Die brasilianische Komponistin Laura Mello forscht seit vielen Jahren an ihrem Konzept der intermedialen Komposition: Text, Sound, Bewegung und projiziertes Bild werden als gleichwertige Materialien behandelt, ebenso wie die Aufführende beziehungsweise Komponierende in ihrer Präsenz als performativer Faktor.

Die brasilianische Komponistin, Klangkünstlerin und Performerin Laura Mello, die in Berlin lebt und arbeitet, spielt gerne mit Motiven aus der gesprochenen Sprache und aus Feldaufnahmen. In ihren Instrumentalkompositionen, Klanginstallationen, Interventionen und Performances erforscht sie die menschliche Wahrnehmung für akustische Phänomene im Zusammenhang mit der gesprochenen Sprache. Ihre Kompositionen, Installationen, Performances und Interventionen waren auf mehreren Festivals und in Radiosendungen auf der ganzen Welt zu sehen und zu hören, zuletzt auf dem Festival Heroines of Sound. Sie war Artist-in-Residence im Museumsquartier in Wien und an der Kulturakademie Tarabya in Istanbul. Laura ist seit 2016 Teil von Errant Sound und leitete das *Topia Sound Art Festival 2021. Für Sonic Space bereitet sie eine neue Performance aus der Reihe "Composing for Many Media Including Me" vor.

"Composing for many media including me" is a performance container, or performance series about the act of composing for the media of text, sound, video and oneself.
The Brazilian composer Laura Mello has been researching her concept of intermedial composition for many years: text, sound, movement and projected image are treated as equally important materials, as is the presence of the performer or composer as a performative factor.
Brazilian composer, sound artist and performer Laura Mello, who lives and works in Berlin, likes to play with motifs from spoken language and field recordings. In her instrumental compositions, sound installations, interventions and performances, she explores human perception for acoustic phenomena related to spoken language. Her compositions, installations, performances, and interventions have been seen and heard in several festivals and radio broadcasts around the world, most recently at the Heroines of Sound festival. She has been artist-in-residence at the Museumsquartier in Vienna and at the Tarabya Cultural Academy in Istanbul. Laura has been part of Errant Sound since 2016 and directed the *Topia Sound Art Festival 2021. For Sonic Space she is preparing a new performance from the series "Composing for Many Media Including Me".
