In Lindabrunn forscht Clara Oppel in den Schichten des naturhaften Klangs. Sie erkundet die Klänge von Boden, Luft, Wasser und die biotischen Töne von Pflanzen und Tieren. Die Zeit in der Natur ist langsam und offen, Veränderungen meist fließend. Der Mensch verändert durch seine Eingriffe den Klang der Natur. So sind auch alle von der Zivilisation erzeugten Töne, einschließlich Schwingungen im nichthörbaren Frequenzbereich, anwesend. Hieraus entwickelt die Künstlerin ihre ortspezifische Klanginstallation.
Clara Oppel, lebt als freischaffende Künstlerin in Graz.
Ihre Arbeiten positionieren sich an den Schnittstellen von Klang, Raum, Installation und Skulptur.
Im Besonderen widmet sie sich der Anordnung und Bewegung von akustischen Signalen im Raum. Es geht ihr um die Wechselwirkungen zwischen akustischer und visueller Wahrnehmung.
Jede Skulptur weist auf intermodale Qualitäten, jedes Objekt entwickelt eine Geschichte und teilt sich mit. Es evozieren sich Situationen die gleichzeitig Bild und Klang sind. Indem wir in ihren Klanginstallationen die ganz leisen Veränderungen wahrnehmen, werden wir auf Reisen in die Zwischenräume geführt, bis der Klang visuelle Vorstellungen hervorruft.
Oppel studierte Malerei und Bildhauerei in Nürnberg und Wien. Sie absolvierte ein Postgraduales Studium für Medienkunst an HfG/ZKM, Karlsruhe. Von 2002-2006 war sie als künstlerische Mitarbeiterin an der Akademie der bildenden Künste in Wien tätig. Es folgten zahlreiche Ausstellungen im In - und Ausland.
Sie erhielt mehrfach Stipendien u.a. 2019 das renommierte Auslandsstipendium für bildende Kunst der Stadt Graz.

Clara Oppel lives as a freelance artist in Graz. Her works position themselves at the interfaces between sound, space, installation and sculpture.
She devotes herself especially to the configuration and movement of acoustic signals in space. She is concerned with the interactions between acoustical and visual perception.
Every sculpture displays intermodal properties, every object generates a story and communicates itself.
Situations are evoked, which are simultaneously both picture and sound. As we perceive the hushed fluctuations in her sound installations, we are taken on voyages into those intermediate spaces where sound stimulates the visual imagination.
Oppel studied painting and sculpture in Nuremberg and Vienna, and completed postgraduate studies at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design. She worked as artistic assistant at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 2002 till 2006.
There followed many exhibitions at home and abroad.
She has held numerous scholarships, including, in 2019, the prestigious International Scholarship for Fine Arts of the Municipality of Graz.
In Lindabrunn, Clara Oppel explores the layers of natural sound. She probes the sounds of soil, air, water, and also the biotic tones of plants and animals. Natural time follows the algorithm of the universe. Change happens flowingly, organically. Humankind interferes with these forces, and all the sounds of civilisation, whether audible for us or beyond our frequency range, have an impact on the natural world. This is the background for the artist’s site-specific sound installation.
